BEER SOUP (With Caraway)

In pot combine 5 cups beer, 1 cup water, 3 slices black bread (with crust removed), 2 Tablespoons butter and 1 teaspoon caraway seeds.

Bring to boil, reduce heat, simmer 10 minutes. Force through sieve, add 1 teaspoon sugar and salt to taste. Serve with butter-fried rye-bread croutons sprinkled with grated yellow cheese.
