A TRIBUTE TO
LISA FACCHINA-BAIO

By Robert M. Jadach

Lisa was a very charming woman, who was the wife of my friend Paul Baio.

I remember the first time I met her. There was a group of us friends who went to see Sting perform at a concert at one of the outdoor theater venues. We were in rehearsal at the time for “42nd Street” at Morton College.

We saw the concert and had a great time, like we normally do. Lisa who worked at “Swank” with Paul and Rob Stackley came along with a few co-workers and fellow cast members. She seemed rather shy that evening. I spoke to her asking her about the concert. She liked it a lot, I recall and when I told her that I was glad that Sting performed one of my favorite songs “An Englishman In New York”, she looked at me and told me that I was a “dork”. That was a great icebreaker to get to know a person.

From that day, Paul and Lisa started dating and I had fun with both of them. Besides hanging out at Crash Palace, The Exit, going to see movies and going on the London Trip from the College, I knew that one day they would get married.

A few years past and they did get married. This is the first time I ever saw Lisa wear clothing that wasn’t a dark color. She looked picturesque. Lisa made a beautiful bride.

The years started rolling by and like all friendships, we started to drift apart. All of us who were so close at the College drifted apart, until I heard about the sad news about Lisa being diagnosed with cancer. It crushed me. I know that it was hard news to take and I would say an extra prayer for Lisa. Thank goodness for Paul keeping everyone updated with his website.
